In 2023, I had the honor of pioneering Pacific Lutheran University's first-ever 3D artist installation, marking a significant step forward in blending technology with traditional fine arts on campus. Using a combination of Blender, Photoshop, Maya, and the Adobe Creative Suite, I developed a body of work that pushed the boundaries of visual storytelling through still pieces, animated sequences, and augmented reality. This installation was not just a personal milestone—it helped carve out a new space for digital and 3D art at PLU, setting a precedent for future artists to explore the intersection of tech and creative expression within the academic art community.

Artist Statement

My work aims to explore the relationship between the digital and the physical, the real and the virtual, and the ways in which these worlds intersect. By constructing natural forms in an unnatural medium I want to transform the augmentation of reality. Each animation is symbolic of a natural process in the real world and is created in the most unnatural way to help myself and my audience create a deeper understanding of the increasingly digitized world we occupy. Although each piece differs from the next, they all are linked to the idea of blurring reality through technology and its relationship with Artistic mediums. My expression is thorough, yet simple, and is a basis of the intersection of a natural reality with an augmented reality and how I perceive my relationship with the natural and the unnatural.
